Full Job Description
Modernizing the Healthcare Financial Experience
Building trusted, scalable people practices across a complex healthcare ecosystem

Zelis is hiring an Associate General Counsel to lead labor and employment matters across the enterprise as the company continues to scale its healthcare payments and cost-management platform.

Reporting to the Enterprise Deputy General Counsel, this role serves as the primary legal partner to the People & Culture team and a trusted advisor to executive leadership. The Associate General Counsel will provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on employment-related decisions, helping the organization navigate risk while supporting growth and operational efficiency.

In this role, you'll advise on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including hiring and terminations, employee investigations, discrimination and harassment, leaves and accommodations, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, independent contractor matters, and statutory employment considerations. You'll develop standardized processes and playbooks for employment decisions, partner with litigation colleagues on labor and employment disputes, and lead sensitive internal investigations.

You'll also oversee employment-related policies and documentation, including the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct, advise on employee benefits and ERISA matters, draft and negotiate executive employment agreements, and support company acquisitions through employment-law expertise. Collaboration with global teams, including offshore colleagues, is an important part of the role.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in labor and employment law, strong judgment, and the ability to deliver clear, actionable advice in a fast-paced, growing organization. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how Zelis supports its workforce while continuing to modernize the healthcare financial experience.
