Full Job Description
Abridge is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Life Sciences to serve as the first dedicated legal counsel for its newly established life sciences business. This senior role is integral to embedding legal and compliance frameworks into the product lifecycle, supporting innovation while ensuring adherence to healthcare, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

As Associate General Counsel, you will partner closely with product, engineering, and strategy teams to guide product design, development, and deployment. You will drive the creation of Abridge's legal strategy for life sciences, provide actionable guidance on regulatory and compliance matters-including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, FDA, FTC, and evolving AI/ML regulations-and support go-to-market activities through contract negotiation and risk assessment. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, coordinating with external counsel, and monitoring emerging regulations in healthcare technology.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in a dedicated life sciences role, and a strong understanding of pharmaceutical or biotech products. Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts for technical and commercial teams, comfort with high-volume, fast-paced environments, and familiarity with trends in artificial intelligence are essential. This is a hybrid position based in New York or San Francisco, requiring in-office presence three days per week.
