The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, in partnership with the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center (UCCC) and UC Health, invites applications for a senior clinical and translational leader to guide the Blood Cancer Healing Center (BCHC).

This position is intended for an accomplished hematologic malignancies physician-investigator with a national reputation, a strong record of clinical and translational scholarship, and demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams. The leader will have a central role in building the BCHC into a nationally recognized destination for comprehensive blood cancer care, innovative clinical trials, translational research, and training.The BCHC is a major strategic investment in the future of hematologic cancer care at UC. As one of the relatively few stand-alone hospitals in the United States dedicated to blood cancers, it offers a distinctive platform to integrate highly specialized inpatient and outpatient care, cellular therapy and transplantation, early-phase therapeutics, disease-focused clinical programs, and laboratory-based translation within a unified environment.

Essential Functions

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the clinical and translational blood cancer programs within the BCHC.
• Develop a clear, ambitious vision that aligns the BCHC with UCCC priorities and supports the institutional goal of achieving National Cancer Institute designation.
• Build nationally prominent disease-focused programs in leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapy.
• Expand the portfolio of investigator-initiated, cooperative group, industry-sponsored, and early-phase clinical trials.
• Advance multidisciplinary models of care, quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical outcomes across the blood cancer continuum.
• Represent the BCHC and UCCC regionally and nationally, developing strategic partnerships with academic centers, industry, foundations, community practices, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Leverage UCCC capabilities in experimental therapeutics, precision medicine, genomics, cellular therapy, biostatistics, bioinformatics, pharmacology, and drug development.
• Partner with basic and translational investigators in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Cancer Biology, and other departments across the College of Medicine.
• Develop joint initiatives with the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Leukemia and Lymphoma Programs.
• Strengthen connections with the NCI Early Phase Clinical Trials Network, cooperative groups, industry partners, and the regional referral network.
• Contribute to programmatic grants, multi-investigator funding, disease-specific research teams, and the development of shared clinical and translational resources.

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the start date of the appointment:

• Medical Degree (MD or DO)
• Completion of a three-year Internal Medicine residency.
• Completion of a three-year fellowship in Hematology or Hematology-Oncology
• Ohio Medical License and DEA license

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Experience leading or substantially growing a comprehensive hematologic malignancies, transplantation, cellular therapy, or clinical research program.
• A record of building partnerships across departments, hospitals, and institutions.
• Experience contributing to an NCI-designated cancer center or to the development of programs supporting NCI designation.
• A collaborative approach to program growth, clinical innovation, and translational science.
• Ability to articulate and execute a compelling vision while maintaining accountability for measurable clinical, academic, and operational outcomes.
