Associate, Finance - Treasury

About the Role

As an Associate, Treasury, you will be the operational engine of our liquidity and cash management processes. You will execute critical daily operations, manage transactional workflows, and ensure robust risk controls are maintained through proper Segregation of Duties (SOD). This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to serve as a point of contact for cross-divisional teams while performing the essential financial analysis that drives senior leadership's decision-making. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Daily Cash Operations: Perform daily cash positioning, bank reconciliations, funding execution support, rewards funding calculations, bank account administration, and reporting inputs.
  • Transactional Workflows: Handle first-level operational tasks and transactional workflows, including preparing daily cash data, supporting reconciliations, maintaining clear documentation, and actively tracking exceptions.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting to directly support the Senior Manager's strategic decision-making and business objectives.
  • Risk Controls & Compliance: Execute daily operations flawlessly while ensuring proper Segregation of Duties (SOD) is maintained to support a strong internal control and risk environment.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Serve as Point of Contact (POC) for Treasury support, partnering effectively with cross-divisional internal teams to ensure seamless communication and execution.


An Accounting Specialist will perform multiple types of reconciliations, settlement processes, and general ledger work to support the dynamic lines of business at Capital one. You will work with a superior team to learn the accounting processes and procedures at Capital One, and have the opportunity to grow your responsibilities in analysis and project work with your team.

Key Job Family Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for review with management.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for review with management.
  • Participate in challenging project initiatives with the team.
  • Provide business requirements for data collection and sourcing, and provide compliance efforts to outside auditors.
  • Perform ad hoc requests.


Candidate Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or military experience
  • 1 year of experience in public or corporate accounting


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or military experience
  • CPA
  • 2 years of experience in public or corporate accounting, focused on financial services.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $81,700 - $93,300 for Associate, Accounting

New York, NY: $89,200 - $101,700 for Associate, Accounting

Richmond, VA: $74,200 - $84,700 for Associate, Accounting

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
