Full Job Description
Under direction, exercises wide latitude of independent judgment and initiative in the administrative direction and coordination of major activities and operations of a health care setting or in area(s) of functional responsibility . Acts in and ensures compliance with applicable NYC Health + Hospitals policies and procedures and local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations . Work Shifts 9:00AM - 5:00 PM Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implements directives of the Chief Executive Officer or designee, reviews and evaluates existing programs, participates in the development and maintenance of programs, and makes recommendations for improvement, modification and provision of general administrative and support services .
  • Audits existing programs and health care setting operations and applies approved criteria for evaluating programs and operational activities .
  • Participates in the preparation of expense and capital budgets covering all categories for short and long-range planning and operations .
  • Participates in and assists with the review and monitoring of the office's program budget for conformity to policies and program guidelines, and assists in the development and preparation of its budget.
  • Reviews and recommends proposals for alterations of health care settings and acquisition and replacement of equipment.
  • Assists in the preparation of policies and procedures and provides guidance and council to departmental leaders on the development of health care setting programs .
  • Meets with departmental leaders to coordinate activities and represents superiors, as necessary .
  • Reviews preparation of periodic reports and directs special studies, reports activities and makes recommendations for implementation .
  • Recommends approval or disapproval of employee requests, in accordance with System personnel administrative policies and procedures .
  • Represents superiors in the development of cooperative relationships with community groups and agencies .
  • Assists in the development and operational planning of new programs, from analysis to implementation, and undertakes research and studies on selected administration and operations problems .
  • Performs other related duties, as directed .
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Care Administration, Public Health or a related discipline and five (5) years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital, Business, or Public Administration or a Health Care Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or all of a , health care setting, including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and six (6) years of high-level experience in areas as described in "1" above .
