Position SummaryThe Equipment Engineer Associate Manager oversees equipment installation, optimization, and reliability across battery manufacturing lines. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding engineers and technicians while collaborating cross-functionally in a bilingual environment. The ideal candidate excels in troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and driving up time and performance in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor equipment engineers and technicians; set priorities and allocate resources.
- Support team development through training, coaching, and performance guidance.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of key production equipment.
- Review technical documentation and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.
- Lead RCA for major equipment failures and drive corrective actions.
- Provide expert troubleshooting support for automation, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Drive automation upgrades and equipment optimization projects to improve throughput, yield, and efficiency.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and process-improvement methodologies to reduce waste and enhance reliability.
- Act as primary technical liaison for vendors and internal teams.
- Partner with process, quality, and production teams to ensure equipment meets operational goals.
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (ISO9001, IATF16949).
- Lead risk assessments and enforce safe operating practices.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing equipment; 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong expertise in PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servo systems, and industrial automation.
- Skilled in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and equipment optimization.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and technical documentation.
- Bilingual English/Chinese preferred; ability to travel domestically and internationally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $112,000.00 - 130,000.00 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
