Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a motivated Associate Engineer to join our Systems team and support enterprise endpoint management. You will play a key role in building and maintaining imaging baselines using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), while developing foundational skills in cloud-first device management through Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career to grow within a structured enterprise environment.

T his position will report to our Bloomington office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Actively participate and contribute in SDLC activities such as; solution design, work effort estimation, assisting peers with technical challenges, and code reviews.

- Perform production support activities such as; monitor system processes, evaluate the outcome of system processes, work through system exceptions, and create processes to monitor and report on the overall system health.

- Create/modify artifacts and deliverables expected from the SDLC and change management process.

- Responsible for adhering to all established safety standards.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of standardized OS image baselines using MECM for enterprise Windows deployments to ensure consistency across hardware platforms.

- Support the creation and management of MECM task sequences for OS deployment (OSD), including driver injection, software packaging, and post-imaging configuration.

- Support application deployment and monthly patching cycles through MECM by validating packages against baseline images.

- Assist with configuring and managing devices via Microsoft Intune and participate in Autopilot deployment profile setup under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Maintain up-to-date documentation related to imaging processes, task sequences, deployment configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

- Provide Tier 2 support for endpoint-related issues related to imaging, device enrollment, and policy application.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 0-3 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Specific Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

- 0-3 years of experience in IT systems or endpoint management.

- Hands-on experience with MECM/SCCM (lab or production).

- Familiarity with Windows OS deployment concepts.

- Basic MDM concepts

Windows Autopilot - Entry-Level

- Autopilot deployment profiles.

- Device registration and hardware hash.

- User-driven and self-deploying modes.

- Enrollment Status Page (ESP) configuration.

- OOBE customization basics.

Support & General Skills

- Windows 10/11 enterprise administration.

- Active Directory fundamentals.

- Group Policy (GPO) basics.

- PowerShell scripting (basic).

- Networking basics (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).

- BIOS/UEFI and Secure Boot knowledge.

- Strong documentation habits.

- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Preferred Experience:

- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.

- Microsoft MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator) in progress or completed.

- Exposure to Intune or Autopilot in any capacity.

- Experience in a corporate or enterprise IT environment.
