Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Associate / Electrical Design Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:

Northrop Grumman System Test Team, Launch Support System (LSS) has an opening for an Electrical Design Engineer supporting the Sentinel program based out of the Roy, UT campus. Launch Support System (LSS) is a team well positioned to have a major impact on the Sentinel program and is staffed with many diverse disciplines to achieve our design goals. Our Team is tasked with deploying a flight test specific product at multiple locations across the US. LSS has a significant and valuable impact on range safety and flight data management through the life of the Sentinel program and coordinates with multiple other product groups.
  • Plan and design cable routes around facilities, cabinet racks, and LRUs.
  • Conduct LRU interface research, process documents, and collaborate with other engineers to determine the best design for each set of cables.
  • Perform circuit design and analysis, such as overall power analysis for component and rack-level systems, line loss analysis, and bent pin analysis.
  • Develop interconnect drawings in Capital.
  • Develop Product Definition Packages (PDPs) and take them through the full review and release process in CPLM.
  • Interface and coordination with external stakeholders such as Parts Materials & Processes (PM&P) team, EEE, Safety, and others.
  • Demonstrate technical skills, strong organizational abilities, effective communication, and problem-solving skills while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit a commitment to ethics and integrity, as well as a capacity for innovation. Must be able to operate effectively in a team environment and collaborate across the program to accomplish assigned tasks.


Associate Electrical Design Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and 0 years of experience.

Electrical Design Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • Must be able to design schematics and excel in detailed design work.
  • Understands mil-specs and capable of clarifying hardware requirements.
  • Electrical Engineer with some experience with hardware design.


Both Levels:
  • Must be a US citizen and can obtain active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Siemens Team Center PLM.
  • Capital Logic experience.
  • Experience performing line loss analysis.
  • Experience with bent pin analysis.
  • The ability to collaborate and communicate electrical interfaces between systems.
  • DoD Secret Clearance at the time of application; the clearance must be current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
