Full Job Description
This is what you will do:

The Associate Director, U.S. Marketing, PNH, is a member of the commercial US PNH Marketing team and part of the broader Rare Hematology team within the Hematology and Nephrology Business Unit. This individual will play a critical role in developing and driving strategies and tactics to support healthcare provider and patient engagement.

Reporting to the Executive Director of US Marketing, Rare Hematology the Associate Director will contribute to the development and execution of annual HCP and patient marketing plans, inclusive of brand strategy and key strategic initiatives. This individual will work closely with Business Operations/Omnichannel to lead planning , implementation and measurement of the omni-channel approach and serve as a key cross-functional partner, collaborating with teams including Field Sales, TLL, Patient Services, Patient Advocacy, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Medical, and Promotional Review Committee (PRC).

What you will do:
  • Drive innovative and disruptive Marketing approaches aimed at expanding reach to key customers and broadening awareness and treatment of PNH
  • Leading creation of HCP & Patient focused promotional materials to support execution of brand strategy across branded and disease campaigns
  • For key strategic initiatives, lead creation and rollout of new marketing materials, and serve as a lead for digital innovation, AI implementation, & maximizing execution across omni-channel ecosystem
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify best practices and uncover needs/ trends and build relationships to improve consistency of brand strategy execution pulled through omni-channel tactics
  • Cultivating strong relationships with enterprise cross functional teams to ensure seamless execution and tracking of marketing activities and tactics
  • Development and execution of workshops at AKF, Regional Meetings, & ad hoc events
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators for digital & media campaigns
  • Managing agency partners, project timelines and budgets.
  • Communicating effectively to all levels of Alexion staff and management.
  • Working with the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with the company's code of Ethics and Business Conduct.


You will need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business, or related field relevant to the role's responsibilities
  • 5+ years of marketing, agency, or consulting experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry; minimum 1 year in US commercial marketing
  • Proven ability to strategically lead personal and non-personal tactic development and execution
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects across functional areas, working independently when appropriate, collaborating within teams, and serving as a sub-team lead when needed
  • Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring and applying both scientific and business acumen
  • Experience managing external agencies and/or vendors on a daily basis, including budget oversight
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

We would prefer for you to have:
  • Advanced degree (MBA)
  • Pharma or biotech commercial experience, including hematology, oncology, or rare diseases; launch experience strongly preferred
  • A track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics that have delivered strong commercial results
  • Strong scientific orientation and background
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate in a matrix environment
  • Familiarity with applying AI tools and techniques to enhance marketing efficiency


The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $151,082 to $226,622. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives-an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
