Description
Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Public Manager Selection will support senior investment professionals in the research, due diligence, monitoring, and analysis of public market investments and investment managers, including domestic equities, international equities, and fixed income strategies. This role will use research and data analytics to evaluate existing and prospective managers and strategies, generate actionable investment ideas, and support portfolio analysis across public markets.
Job Responsibilities - Support senior investment professionals in research and due diligence of public equity and fixed income investments and managers
- Conduct research and use data analytics within domestic equities, international equities, and fixed income funds
- Support senior investment professionals with monitoring existing managers and strategies for domestic equities, international equities and fixed income
- Work collaboratively with HB's research and market strategy team in building and maintaining HB's public models
- Work with investments team members to generate actionable investment ideas within public markets
- Conduct portfolio analysis and prepare investment related materials for prospect and client meetings
- Research and prepare responses to inbound investments related questions from clients and advisory team members
- Develop, update, and maintain investments collateral used in investments committee meetings and for presentations to clients
- Takes ownership of investment decisions and related performance outcomes within the scope of the role
- Coordinate with investment operations team on management of HB internal model portfolios
Requirements
- Strong intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in investing, equity markets, capital markets, and in-depth investment research
- Eagerness to learn new ideas/concepts, intellectually curious, and ability to contribute to a broader team
- Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task across various projects
- Self-starter with the willingness to look for and offer up solutions to problems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with other Microsoft office products
- Knowledge of investment management and research tools, such as Factset, Black Diamond, and Bloomberg a plus
- Ability to convey complex investment information in a clear, concise, and useful way
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities as the organization grows
- Ability to successfully pass criminal background / credit check required
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in finance or business-related field preferred; has or is currently pursuing CFA designation required
