Overview:The Associate Director - Process Engineering is responsible for supervising the engineers and engineering technicians who support daily operations of the advanced therapies manufacturing facility at LP2, including process engineers, process control (automation) engineers, and plant engineers. This role ensures reliable, qualified, and compliant equipment, control applications, and building and facility systems are used in the manufacturing of advanced therapies drug products. The Associate Director also oversees delivery of capital projects from concept through close-out, typically ranging from under $500,000 up to $5,000,000, and partners across the engineering organization and functional disciplines to support the technical agenda, business plan priorities, and compliance objectives.
Responsibilities:- Supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff, including process, automation, and plant engineers, through performance reviews, staffing, and succession planning.
- Oversee delivery of capital projects from concept through close-out in a compliant manner, coordinating engineering work across process, automation, plant, and project engineering.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring the team operates in a state of compliance, tracking key performance indicators, and removing barriers to team performance.
- Set and reinforce standards for engineering rigor and application of First Principles in coordination with Global Engineering and other LP2 engineering areas.
- Serve as an active member of site leadership, partnering with strategic planning on long-term site master plan strategy and recapitalization efforts.
Basic Qualifications:- B.S. in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing-related experience, preferably including biosynthetic drug substance and/or sterile drug product operations.
Additional Skills/ Preferences:- Previous experience obtaining or working toward Professional Engineer licensure (encouraged, not required).
- Proven ability to instill teamwork and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills within the department.
- Proven ability to ensure appropriate technical depth and rigor in departmental deliverables.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$123,000 - $180,400
