Job DescriptionWe are seeking an Associate Director of Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Management (BCM) to support enterprise-wide Operational Resilience and BCM programs and execution across RBC's platforms. In this role, you will work closely with the Director to execute quality assurance framework, support governance and procedure maintenance, and deliver training initiatives that strengthen BCM and operational resilience capabilities. You will partner with platform and business unit leaders to drive consistent BCM practices, support artifact quality improvements, and contribute to establishing RBC as best-in-class in organizational preparedness and response to disruptions. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Own and manage Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management procedures, governance, quality assurance, training, and enterprise control monitoring across all platforms
- Establish and maintain standardized BCM methodologies, procedures, and execution expectations, including version control of Business unit addendums aligned with BCRM Standards.
- Conduct sampling, defect tracking, and remediation of BCM artifacts to improve completeness, accuracy, and consistency and oversee a comprehensive Quality Assurance program
- Support the design and delivery of comprehensive BCM training programs for BCM Advisors and business teams. Track training participation and measure training effectiveness.
- Support maintenance and monitoring of the Enterprise BCM control library, identifying and escalating control deficiencies, escalating critical issues to Platforms for resolution
- Partner with platform and business unit leaders to drive consistent BCM practices and embed business continuity into the way RBC leads, operates, and responds to disruption
- Support regulatory, supervisory, and audit engagements as accountable owner, coordinating evidence, walkthroughs, and remediation outcomes.
- Prepare executive reporting on enterprise BCM program health, maturity, regulatory alignment, and performance metrics
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have: - 7-10 years of experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, or Non-Financial Risk within large, complex financial institutions, with direct accountability for execution and capability development
- Demonstrated experience supporting remediation and uplift initiatives, translating regulatory expectations into practical, executable programs
- Proven capability in supporting enterprise-wide BCM frameworks, procedures, standards, and quality assurance processes across multiple business units
- Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements related to BCM, disaster recovery, and incident management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate BCM concepts to business teams and senior stakeholders
Nice-to-have:
- MBA, FRM, CFA, CBCI, DRI International
- Experience establishing enterprise monitoring, reporting, and metrics frameworks for BCM outcomes and compliance
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional and cross-platform teams on BCM initiatives
- Familiarity with BCM tools, platforms, and technology solutions that enhance execution and reporting
