Full Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Associate Director of Workforce Development will be responsible for supporting the Lower East Side Employment Network (LESEN) through program administration and development, systems building and management, data tracking and more to ensure effective collaboration across LESEN partners. The Associate Director will play a key role in building sustainable systems to connect job seekers within the network to resources related to training, support services, and employment opportunities, while also working in support of MCC community programs and social services.

The Lower East Side Employment Network (LESEN) is an interagency collaboration composed of nine member agencies (Partners) including the Chinese-American Planning Council, CMP, Educational Alliance, Good Old Lower East Side, Grand Street Settlement, Henry Street Settlement, University Settlement and The Door, and Vision Urbana, serving as Manhattan's Community District 3 local hiring vehicle with limited oversight by Community Board 3. The Network provides customized employment services for developers and companies on the Lower East Side (LES), and throughout New York City, who are planning to hire entry- and mid-level staff for hospitality, retail, healthcare, and other sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working closely with Partnership Director and other leaders, ensure LESEN networks efforts are coordinated among training providers, employers, community-based organizations, educational institutions, and public agencies, including streamlining communications, systems and opportunities to share information and resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all LESEN member organizations to enhance collaboration, including having a keen understanding of the offerings that each provides.
  • Attend LESEN partner convenings and serves as MCC's liaison to LESEN to share resources, align priorities and help connect and refer appropriately.
  • Coordinate job fairs and other recruitment events held at MCC in partnership with LESEN.
  • Establish and maintain processes and protocols for referrals to client stipends; certification scholarships; and access to childcare resources, and they are provided in an efficient and inclusive way. Continually monitor referral effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve participant engagement and retention.
  • Oversee the implementation, continuous improvement, and evaluation of the durable skills curriculum, and provide facilitation for the workshops when needed. Ensure curriculum content reflects employer expectations and workforce trends, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, leadership, and professionalism.
  • Strengthen and maintain systems for data collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting to ensure we meet the needs of the communities and grant deliverables.
  • Use data to identify trends, drive continuous improvement efforts, and support funding and partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, grant implementation, and program expansion efforts.
  • Represent LESEN and MCC at community meetings, partner convenings and other opportunities to share about the work and bring in best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen the LESEN network, ensure clear channels of communication to highlight the work and its impact.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Education, Public Administration, Human Services, Business, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in workforce development, program management, partnership development, employer engagement, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing cross-sector partnerships.
  • Knowledge of workforce development systems and programming
  • Experience with data management, performance tracking, and program evaluation.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Available some evenings and weekends for programming
  • Ability to travel across LESEN partners for meetings, events and collaboration
