We are seeking an Associate Director of Project Management to lead a team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers within the EdPlus Project Management Office (PMO). Every day you will make a difference in the lives of others by supervising project management staff, leading complex cross-functional initiatives, and advancing the PMO's project management framework to support consistent, effective project delivery across the organization.

Working closely with leadership, you will align project work with strategic priorities, manage high-impact initiatives, and coach project managers to perform at a high level.

Essential Duties:

Team Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately six Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture that supports continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Manage team capacity, workload, and resource allocation to support organizational priorities.

Project Management

  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation.

  • Develop project plans, manage scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.

  • Partner with leadership to prioritize work and ensure projects align with strategic objectives.

PMO Leadership

  • Advance the PMO's project management framework by promoting consistent governance, tools, and best practices.

  • Coach Project Managers in selecting and applying appropriate project management methodologies—including Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, or other approaches—based on project needs.

  • Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, reporting, and operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Tools

  • Build strong partnerships across EdPlus and ASU to support successful project delivery.

  • Utilize project management tools, including Jira, to manage projects, monitor progress, and support reporting and decision-making.

Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

NOTE: This is an in-person hybrid position. You must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

  • Experience leading and developing project management professionals.

  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of project management principles and multiple delivery methodologies.

  • Experience coaching others in selecting and applying appropriate project management approaches.

  • Evidence of excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including relationship building.

  • Experience managing and supervising staff.

  • Experience with Jira or similar project management platforms.

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or related certifications are preferred.


Salary & Benefits:

$100,000 - $115,000 per year; DOE
