As part of the Donor Relations team within the Mass General Brigham Development Office, the Associate Director will play an integral role in the Donor Relations team’s philanthropic compliance work and will oversee the management of financial stewardship reporting.
Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations for Fund Management and Compliance, the Associate Director will oversee fund administration and financial stewardship, serving as the primary point of contact for fund-related inquiries, data requests, and reporting. The Associate Director will ensure the accuracy and integrity of fund data in collaboration with systems teams and will drive process improvements across financial reporting, compliance, and fund management. The position monitors fund terms, expenditures, and eligibility for stewardship while ensuring funds are used appropriately and in accordance with donor intent. This position will manage donor financial reports, support special projects, and resolve complex issues in partnership with Mass General Brigham (MGB) Finance and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role will educate colleagues and donors, providing high-quality service, and develop metrics to strengthen stewardship practices.
• Manages the Donor Relations team’s inbound fund requests and inquiries; serves as the primary contact for fund data, list, and report requests. Partners closely with the Information Systems Management (ISM) team to ensure data integrity and manage uploads to the donor database.
• Ensures philanthropic funds are spent appropriately and in compliance with fund terms, in collaboration with MGB Finance, department and institute administrators and leadership, frontline fundraisers, and donor relations colleagues.
• Contributes to resolving complex fund administration issues in collaboration with MGB Finance, relevant administrators, and the Office of General Counsel, as applicable.
• Collaborates on process improvements and technology solutions across financial reporting, fund management, and compliance activities.
• Tracks and audits fund terms, maturities, and expenditures for new and existing funds. Recommends funds for inclusion in or removal from stewardship, based on research and analysis.
• Assists with special projects such as auditing reinvesting endowments, reviewing gifts held in the Development Office Suspense Fund, and compiling financial information from multiple sources for gift proposals.
• Produces formal financial reports for donors on current-use and endowment funds, including significant utilization of the digital stewardship reporting platform (Ovrture); as well as developing bespoke financial reports for top donors, requiring research on complex funds, gifts, and expenditures. Provides high-quality customer service by educating colleagues and donors on financial topics (e.g., endowment structure, MGB Finance policies, fund expenditures). Serves as a subject matter expert, responds to inquiries, and leads presentations, workshops, and communications.
• Develops stewardship metrics to inform best practices, in collaboration with Director.
• Participates in professional development opportunities, including internal volunteer or job shadowing roles when appropriate
• Contributes to maintaining positive office morale, even in the face of high work volume and challenging periods.
Bachelor’s degree required and 5-7 years of related experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and competencies:

Additional Job Details (if applicable)
The target salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate's experience and internal equity.
