What You Will Do:

The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare industry expertise and a strong record of designing and delivering innovative clinical and operational performance solutions for hospitals and health systems. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of integrated optimization initiatives focused on clinical effectiveness, system operations, workforce performance, and capacity management.

In this consulting role, you will also contribute to business development and client relationship management efforts for Guidehouse Healthcare clients pursuing optimization initiatives. This role is instrumental in advancing the firm's performance improvement offerings and shaping leading-edge consulting solutions within the healthcare practice.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide healthcare industry expertise and management consulting support across client engagements within the Healthcare Practice.
  • Develop practice-wide methodologies that can be applied across account strategies and client plans.
  • Build and maintain strong account relationships with key client decision-makers.
  • Identify emerging industry issues and help develop the practice's strategic response.
  • Support the development of strategic alliances and relationships across targeted healthcare markets.
  • Provide delivery assurance and execution support for engagements with priority clients.
  • Mentor and develop Guidehouse team members while supporting client delivery across engagements.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership within client accounts and across the broader practice.
  • Lead consulting engagements by shaping statements of work, developing project plans, writing proposals, presenting to client executives, and facilitating decisions with key stakeholders and influencers.


What You Will Need for Associate Director:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7-10+ years of project or program management leadership experience delivering complex initiatives for healthcare providers, including at least 5 years working with large, complex health systems.
  • Ability to define, track, and manage performance metrics across both clinical and non-clinical operations.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial and operational results across multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Health system leadership experience in one or more of the following areas: Emergency Department, Perioperative Services, or Nursing Operations.
  • Familiarity with technology-enabled solutions and IT tools that improve efficiency, quality, and patient throughput.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and lead others in understanding and aligning to evolving strategies, goals, and plans.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-workstream projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with recognition as an industry thought leader through publications, white papers, or speaking engagements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and facilitate information-sharing across all levels of Guidehouse and client organizations, including executives, physicians, and clinical and administrative staff.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $135,000.00-$225,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
