Job SummaryProvides strategic leadership and institutional coordination for experiential learning initiatives, including internships, co-ops, fellowships, service-learning, and related programs. Leads the scalable expansion and continuous improvement of experiential learning opportunities for Kennesaw State University students by aligning industry needs with university priorities. Partners closely with academic colleges and campus stakeholders to support integration of experiential learning within the student experience while academic units retain ownership of curriculum, course sections, and enrollment decisions. Supervises the experiential learning team and uses data-informed practices to enhance student career readiness and workforce outcomes. Oversees the university's on-campus job shadowing program, OwlXperience.
Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Leads the strategic planning, growth, and continuous improvement of experiential learning initiatives across the university
2. Supervises and develops assigned staff ensuring effective operational execution and high-quality service delivery
3. Develops and advances employer engagement strategies that align experiential learning opportunities with workforce needs and student career readiness goals
4. Researches, designs, and implements new initiatives and scalable models that increase student participation in experiential learning
5. Establishes and maintains program standards, guidelines, and scalable processes governing experiential learning participation and academic credit workflows
6. Analyzes participation trends, outcomes data, and program effectiveness; prepares and delivers reports and recommendations to departmental and university leadership
7. Partners with academic colleges, faculty, and campus stakeholders to support the integration and expansion of experiential learning opportunities across disciplines
8. Ensures coordinated, non-duplicative services through close collaboration with Employer Relations, Career Services, and other campus partners
9. Evaluates existing programs and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance access, quality, and student engagement
10. Oversees the design, implementation, and assessment of the OwlXperience on-campus job shadowing program, including employer and campus host engagement
11. Represents the department at university committees, professional associations, and external meetings
12. Promotes and models an inclusive, respectful, and high-performing team culture
13. May serve as instructor of record for internship, cooperative education, or career-focused courses, as appropriate
Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in career services, higher education, early talent development, human resources, or related fields, including experience supervising staff and managing programs or initiatives.
Preferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Handshake, Banner, DegreeWorks, Owl Express, or other higher education student information systems
Preferred Educational Qualifications An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience Experience collaborating with university stakeholders and faculty

Able to maintain confidentiality in the context of FERPA and/or other regulatory guidelines

KNOWLEDGE Proven knowledge and experience of using and facilitating conversations regarding career assessments, career research tools, and NACE Career Readiness Competencies
Experience in supporting experiential learning, student-success, academic, or related program in higher education
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing career-related programs and initiatives to show capability in program management and execution
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, indicating the ability to manage projects and lead teams effectively
SKILLS Excellent initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, project management, and presentation skills
Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies
Possesses strong time-management, organization, and communication skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Canva/Prezi, Adobe Acrobat, and Mac/PC operating systems)
