Job SummaryLAHSA is seeking a dynamic and passionate Associate Director - Reporting and Analytics. Under the leadership of the Director of Data, Analytics, and Training , the Associate Director - Reporting and Analytics is responsible for the management and overall operations of the agency's data infrastructure, dashboards, and reporting, as well as all associated policy development and governance structures. This position will also work closely with internal and external partners to maximize systems coordination and data integration, drive the usage of LAHSA's data and dashboards across the Los Angeles Continuum, and find opportunities to incorporate national and local best practices and requirements are implemented agency wide.
The Associate Director - Reporting and Analytics will assist the Director of Data, Analytics, & Training in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to ensure effective and efficient systems of care for all people experiencing homelessness in LA City and County. This position directly supervises at least 3 managers. The Associate Director will help ensure the department delivers reports, dashboards, and any additional data with the utmost attention to detail and in an efficient and timely manner.

- Ensure the operational success of the Data Infrastructure, Reporting, and Research & Analytics teams.
- In collaboration with the Deputy Chief Analytics office, the Director of Data, Analytics, and Training, and other members of LAHSA leadership, continually develop and refine team vision and objectives, and drive constant action on them.
- In collaboration with the Director of Data, Analytics, and Training, support the department in the research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.
- Plays a lead role in supporting departmental culture and promoting data-driven decision-making, organization-driven analytics, and planning across LAHSA and the homeless Service System in Los Angeles.
- Supervise Managers of Data Infrastructure, Reporting, and Research & Analytics, as well as other program staff; schedules and directs work, performs orientation, training, and quality assurance activities, recommends personnel actions such as selection, evaluation, promotion,etc.
- Develop and maintain organizational and internal tracking systems to support departmental and external oversight of all team operations and projects
- Assists in developing policies, procedures, and protocols necessary to carry out department activities.
Analytics
- Play a lead role in the annual Homeless Count, coordinating, along with the Manager of Research and Analytics, all data collection and reporting elements of the annual Homeless Count, inclusive of the point-in-time unsheltered count and the Housing Inventory Count.
- Ensure consistent and high-quality deliverables are produced by all members of teams under their purview
- Support the building, maintenance, and improvement of existing business intelligence and analytics tools across the department and LAHSA.
Collaboration
- Work with internal and external colleagues to collect and synthesize their needs in order to translate them into concrete tasks and projects the department can produce.
- As needed, serve as the lead LAHSA representative for meetings with stakeholders including elected offices, providers, and research partners.
- Responsible for consulting with Director of Programs on key decisions and keeping Directorof Programs informed of program/projectprogress.
- Develop content and skill expertise by attending meetings and seminars germane tothis position and the base of knowledge required for thejob.
- Prepare periodic reports for executive management, as necessary or requested, to track accomplishment of strategic goals and evaluate workperformed.
- Participate in management and organizationalmeetings.
- The Associate Director - Reporting and Analytics may be assigned other duties asneeded.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCommunication Skills
- Must have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
- Must be able to communicate instructions and sensitive information down the line for department personnel to execute their duties effectively.
- Ability to create reports and presentations that are clear, concise, convincing, easy to understand, and tailored to suit the audience at hand.

Analytics Skills
- Must be passionate and highly skilled in research and data analytics.
- Must be proficient in transforming data and affecting business processes to support data governance and integrity.
- The candidate will also be highly knowledgeable in using emerging open-source tools while conducting analyses on large and unstructured datasets.
- Technical experience with enterprise data warehouse solutions, statistical analysis tools, database systems, and data visualization applications.
- Skilled in using SQL and highly proficient in the workings of data technologies.
- Understand A/B testing and be highly knowledgeable in key identification metrics for driving and maintaining healthy business performance.
- Advanced Tableau knowledge and experience
- Advanced proficiency at producing data reports for diverse audiences

Leadership/People Skills

Training & Experience- Minimum of 8 years' experience managing data and evaluations functions.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing people in an organization addressing homelessness.
- Master's Degree preferred in Data Science, Public Administration, or another related or relevant field.
- Any combination of extensive and applicable work experience and educational credentials to perform the above duties successfully.
Schedule: The Chief Executive Officer or designee may change the schedule of positions between hybrid and onsite, as necessary to accomplish LAHSA's business needs.
Additional Information: LAHSA has adopted a hybrid telework policy requiring employees to work onsite at our Los Angeles office a minimum of two (2) days per week. Applicants must be able to meet this onsite requirement, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

VacationVacation is earned according to each month of service commencing with the employee's initial date of hire.
- Less than three (3) years of employment, eighty (80) hours per year.
- Three (3) to six (6) years of employment, one hundred twenty (120) hours per year.
- More than six (6) years of employment, the one hundred twenty (120) hour total shall be supplemented by one (1) workday of paid leave for each twelve (12) months greater than seventy-two (72) months of employment. This vacation accrual is capped at thirty (30) workdays per year
Maximum accrual of vacation leave is 240 hours.
