Overall Purpose: Oversee and optimize development, implementation, and maintenance of credit and collections systems, procedures, and policies, ensuring timely receivables, mitigating financial risk, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Credit Risk and Collections Management: Assess and monitor the creditworthiness of clients, approving or declining credit applications based on thorough analysis. Develop and execute effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts and bad debt.
• Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with sales, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding credit policies. Prepare and present regular reports on credit and collections performance to senior management.
• Leadership and Management: Oversee and lead the credit and collections team, ensuring staff are well-trained, motivated, and working efficiently. Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize departmental performance.
• Training and Professional Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the credit and collections team to ensure continuous improvement.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Maintain high levels of customer service, ensure compliance with relevant laws, manage external agency relationships, and evaluate technology solutions to enhance efficiency, along with other duties as assigned.
Job Contribution: Oversees operational aspects of the department, focusing on the day-to-day management of related initiatives. This role is primarily concerned with the implementation and execution of strategies developed by higher management. Typically leads entry-level and career-level staff within the organization. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 5+ years of related experience.
