As ATB's next Associate Director in Special Loans, what we internally call
Corporate Risk Advisory and Management (RAM), you will work with one of our Directors in managing a portfolio of distressed accounts. The position will focus on assisting the Director with developing strategies to mitigate risk while working with borrowers to turnaround businesses or maximizing recoveries when navigating to an exit along with supporting the Director in completing financial analysis and credit underwriting.

Accountabilities- Works closely with Director in preparation of term sheets, applications for credit ("AFC"), forbearance agreements, and security documents;
- Provides day-to-day oversight and management of portfolio to ensure customer service expectations and credit quality is maintained and conducts portfolio health monitoring/maintenance;
- Monitors loan loss allowance associated with impaired accounts;
- Works and communicates effectively with restructuring professionals, insolvency counsels, valuators, and financial advisors; and
- Ensures credit decisions/recommendations are in accordance with sound credit granting principles and ATB's lending policy and procedures.
Skills, Experience & Requirements- A post-secondary degree in business with a minimum of 5 years work experience in Corporate/Commercial Banking. A related graduate level degree or designation such as MBA, CPA, CFA, CBV or CIRP would be an asset.
- Strong financial acumen and credit underwriting experience;
- Understanding of distressed corporate lending deals, due diligence, modeling and structuring related to tracing of risks would be considered an asset;
- Experience in and/or knowledge of Insolvency, Receivership, Bankruptcy and CCAA would be considered an asset;

- Demonstrated credibility through professional track record, integrity and business knowledge; and
- Independent self-starter that is eager to learn, works well under pressure, and able to quickly gain working knowledge of a business and its industry.
