Job Overview

The School of Information Technology seeks to hire an Associate Director for Student Success. We are looking for a mission driven, team-oriented, ambitious, and experienced leader who strives to serve, make a difference, and perform at competitive levels of excellence.

This position is 100% on-site but may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option once training is complete. Hybrid work arrangements are at the discretion of the supervisor and are subject to change in accordance with the School of Information Technology telework policy and university policies.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the SoIT Student Success Functional Team including the IT Learning Center, the Early IT Summer Camp, First Year Experience, Scholarship programs for First Year students, First Year Success and Retention and its various workgroups, panels, and taskforces.
  • Manage the SoIT Student Emergency Fund Requests
  • Manage the SoIT Computer Policy
  • Manage all items within the School related to Student Success
  • Strategize on the School's recruitment strategy in partnership with CECH recruitment office
  • Oversee the retention strategy of the School and ensure continuous improvement
  • Oversee the Choose Ohio First scholar recipients and act as a liaison to the grant PI
  • Oversee the success of the Early IT high school students and their successful transition to college.
  • Manage the SoIT Advance Standing Process for Early IT Students
  • Serve on the School's Leadership Team in representation of the Student Success Functional Team
  • Serve on various groups across the University, CECH, and the School that focus on student success, recruitment or retention
  • Communicate progress to various stakeholders as needed.
  • Utilize data to inform and support decision making.
  • Ensure alignment across all student success initiatives in the School, College and University
  • Maintain relationships with the College and University offices as it relates to student success and retention
  • Represent the school in various meetings as needed statewide and potentially nationwide
  • Contribute to the success of the School's strategic plan and innovation in student success
  • Expected to maintain the highest level of professional competency in the success of college students.
  • Assist with other duties in the School as needed


Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirements.


Required Experience

Five (5) years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience must be in academic advising, students' success, or other related area
  • Experience in supervising.
  • Experience working in higher education in a university setting, preferably a research university.
  • Experience with the UC Early IT ecosystem or similar initiative.
  • Background in student success and support
  • Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a university
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Office Applications such as (Exchange, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: $85,000 - $95,000
