Position Information

Position Title
Associate Dean for Educational Effectiveness

Position Summary

The Associate Dean for Educational Effectiveness provides leadership in promoting the mission of the University and in exercising authority over academic, fiscal and personnel resources in his or her charge. This is an in-person, on-campus leadership position.

Pay Range

The compensation for this appointment will range from $125,000 to $140,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Qualifications

A. An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited university. Coursework must include content in higher education, curriculum development, program assessment, or administration. Master's degree in nursing preferred.

B. Demonstrated academic leadership in large complex programs.

C. Three years of college/university teaching including a minimum of two years in an accredited higher degree program.

D. Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and oversight of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

E. Experience with data analysis of program outcomes measurements.

F. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarship.

Teaching Responsibilities

I. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Support the University's mission and goals, the continuous quality improvement process, and embraces a broad institutional view.

B. Provide leadership in program review and assessment activities for the College of Nursing.

C. Collaborate with the nursing administration to assist the Dean in the development, implementation, and revision of a strategic long-range plan for the department and works to assess the success of implementation.

D. Serve as a liaison to the nursing administration to promote ongoing improvement and achievement of program outcomes.

E. Provide leadership in developing or maintaining national and/or state accreditation/ program approval.

F. Assist the Dean in the preparation of reports for the institution, state regulatory agencies, and accreditation bodies.

G. Serve as a team member and leads through service and modeling.

H. Build consensus between students, faculty and nursing administration, respecting lines of authority as set forth by the University.

I. Fulfil other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.

II. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Work with the Dean to promote a scholarly atmosphere within the College of Nursing and provide opportunities and encouragement for the development and enhancement of abilities and performance of each faculty and staff member.

B. Assist the Dean in leading data analytics, program assessment and data management systems within the College of Nursing.

C. Assist the Dean in resolving faculty and staff personnel issues that arise within the College of Nursing.

D. Assist the Dean in resolving student issues that arise within the College, such as serving as the Chair of the Grievance Committee within the College of Nursing.

E. Serve on designated committees, council and task forces.

F. Assists the nursing administration and faculty in curriculum development, and

monitoring program marketability and cost effectiveness.

G. Maintains membership and participates in professional organizations.

H. Maintains understanding of current trends and innovations in program assessment, research, and education.

III. ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITES

A. Fulfills teaching assignments as determined by academic contract.

B. Fulfills faculty responsibilities as outlined in the University faculty handbook.

C. Demonstrates and leads in a commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

D. Demonstrates and leads in a commitment to the utilization of technology in instruction.

E. Demonstrates scholarship through presentations, papers, publications, and other professional activities.
