About the Role

As an Associate Client Services Director, you'll provide strategic leadership for a key global client account spanning Medical Affairs and Publications. You'll serve as a trusted partner to senior client stakeholders, overseeing the successful delivery of integrated scientific communications programs while ensuring exceptional client service, operational excellence, and commercial performance.

Working closely with Scientific Services and cross-functional teams, you'll help shape account strategy, drive operational excellence, mentor and develop Client Services team members, and identify opportunities to strengthen and grow the client partnership.

Here's What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the day-to-day strategic management of a key client account delivering integrated Medical Affairs and Publications programs.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and confidently navigating complex business conversations.
  • Partner with Scientific Services, Editorial, Digital, Creative, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality scientific communications that support client objectives.
  • Oversee account financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, profitability, resource planning, and identifying opportunities for organic account growth.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing best practices, improving delivery processes, and leading strategic initiatives that enhance account performance.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Client Services team members, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Contribute to business development by leading proposals, RFPs/RFIs, pitches, and onboarding new business, while identifying opportunities to expand the existing client partnership.
  • Lead account strategy and planning, applying market insights and industry trends to develop innovative solutions that deliver long-term value.
  • Stay informed on developments across Medical Affairs, scientific publications, AI, and omnichannel engagement, bringing forward new ideas and strategic thinking to clients and internal teams.


About You
  • Extensive Client Services experience within a medical communications agency, with significant experience supporting Medical Affairs and/or Publications accounts.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior pharmaceutical clients and successfully lead integrated scientific communications programs.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, and driving organic account growth.
  • Experience leading and developing Client Services teams while collaborating effectively across Scientific Services, Editorial, Digital, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading business development activities, including proposals, pitches, and expanding existing client partnerships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate client objectives and market insights into impactful Medical Affairs and Publications strategies.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a passion for developing people and delivering exceptional client experiences.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. Compensation

$130,000-$160,000 USD
