Job Summary

Supports the vision, mission and strategic goals of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital and Health System (CHHS). Ensures applicable standards of quality clinical care are achieved. Provides medical leadership in one of the areas noted below. Accountable to and report through the hospital leadership structure (CMO or COO) which will provide support for goal setting, performance metrics and effort prioritization. A close and collaborative working relationship with hospital and provider partners will be an essential element of success.

Essential Functions

- Liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration to share goals and objectives and ensure harmony and alignment with each entity.
- Uses a goal directed approach to maximize the operational efficiency of patient care services for the area of responsibility.
- Develops and implements standards and policies that contribute to the best and safest care for patients based on the generally accepted six dimensions of quality and financial accountability.
- Assures compliance with medical staff governance and expectations including credentialing and privileging processes.
- Oversees and has direct report responsibility for medical staff office operations (MKE and FV).
- Work collaboratively with other ACMO's (Milwaukee, Fox Valley and SGM) for efficiency, timeliness and to reduce redundancy and remove barriers to improving system related medical staff issues.
- Assists in risk management affairs as they relate to the Medical Staff such as patient concerns or potential deviations from generally accepted performance standards.
- Supports an environment conducive to advancing learning for Providers, staff and trainees.
- Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory standards relevant to the medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in other assignments related to the Medical Staff as requested.

Education:

- Terminal Degree (PhD, MD, etc.) Medical Degree (MD, DO or equivalent) with Board certification required
- Current, unrestricted Wisconsin Medical License required

Experience:

- 2+ years some type of leadership role which involved provider governance or oversight required

- Additional skills and abilities including demonstrated Situational Adaptability, Personal Integrity and Accountability, Outstanding Communication Skills and ability to effectively collaborate.
