Trane Technologies is hiring an Associate Category Manager in Davidson North Carolina! The Associate Category Manager will manage a segment of the Diversified Components category within the North America region. This is a fantastic opportunity for career development into Category Management.

What you will do:

  • Collaboration: Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality;
  • Partner with business unit Procurement teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed; Support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
  • Negotiations: Support negotiations and supplier selection; accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance.
  • Cost Management: Responsible for delivering category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects.
  • Supplier Management: Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within category; Ensure creation of supplier profiles for all SRM suppliers.
  • Risk Management: Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.


What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of procurement / sourcing experience, ex: consulting, purchasing / buyer, and/or analyst experience.
  • Ability to assess vendors and demonstrated negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions and strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

$72,611.66 - $101,394.99
