Job Description Summary

The Associate Manager, Brand is a role focused on connecting consumer insights, category dynamics, financial performance, and cross-functional execution to drive brand and business growth. It is designed for individuals who have demonstrated the ability to take ownership of work, influence outcomes, and drive business performance.

Reporting to a Brand Manager or Senior Brand Manager, you will lead key elements of brand strategy and execution across assigned businesses. You will analyze performance trends, evaluate business issues and opportunities, and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations that support growth, profitability, and Annual Operating Plan delivery. You will partner closely with teams across insights, sales, finance, pricing, forecasting, promotion, marketing, operations, and supply chain to move work from idea to execution.

Success in this role requires strong business judgment, analytical thinking, communication, and cross-functional leadership. Candidates in this role demonstrate the ability to take ownership of work, navigate tradeoffs, influence partners, and connect recommendations to measurable business outcomes. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with four days per week in the office.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities
  • Lead key elements of brand strategy and execution across assigned businesses to support short- and long-term growth goals.
  • Analyze consumer, customer, category, and competitive dynamics and translate insights into clear recommendations across product, pricing, promotion, and placement.
  • Lead development and execution of key portions of the Annual Operating Plan, including performance tracking, gap solving, and risk and opportunity assessment.
  • Assess market trends and business performance to identify growth opportunities, risks, and implications for the brand.
  • Drive brand business performance, including innovation, marketing execution, consumption analytics, forecasting, commercialization, sales enablement, and overall P&L impact.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams and influence partners across sales, finance, insights, operations, and supply chain to drive aligned execution.
  • Apply critical thinking and situational agility to evaluate tradeoffs, prioritize effectively, and navigate evolving business needs.
  • Communicate recommendations and decisions clearly to drive alignment and action across Brand leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Guide initiatives through key stages of development and execution, ensuring alignment on priorities and outcomes.

Ingredients Required for Your Success
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred but not required.
  • This role is intended for candidates who bring a broader base of experience than early-career Brand roles, typically through 4+ years of relevant external business experience or 2+ years in a Brand Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Category Analyst, or similar role with progression into greater ownership and leadership.
  • Relevant experience in Brand Management, Marketing, Category Management, Retail, Merchandising, Private Label, Consulting, Commercial Analytics, Finance, CPG, or another transferable business-facing field.
  • Demonstrated ability to own work, influence outcomes, and contribute to business performance in cross-functional environments.
  • Experience working with business metrics such as revenue, volume, margin, or category performance, and using that insight to shape recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong analytical thinking, business judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to translate insights into clear action.
  • Interest in building broader Brand Management and business leadership capability.
  • Digital literacy, including the ability to apply emerging digital and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, decision-making, efficiency, and business impact.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate recommendations, decisions, and business tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional partners and leaders.
