Full Job Description
HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with at least 2+ years of environmental law experience for our Springfield Office. This is an ideal opportunity for attorneys with an interest in gaining experience in environmental law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess strategy and prepare documents for responding to environmental violations alleged by Illinois EPA and USEPA
  • Participate in meetings with clients and regulators regarding environmental permitting and alleged violations
  • Make court appearances and appear at hearings before the Illinois Pollution Control Board
  • Research, analyze, and interpret law sources such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions
  • Assist with document review
  • Conduct depositions
  • Write motions, and responses to discovery
  • Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained; investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action

  • Deposition experience (preferred)
