Personal Injury Associate Attorney

Salary Range
  • $150,000 - no experience required.
  • $175,000 - 3+ years of experience as an Attorney, no workers' compensation experience required.
  • $200,000 - 5+ years of experience as an Attorney and workers' compensation experience is required
  • 1% - 4% bonus based on fee splitting of generated revenue


POSITION SUMMARY

A Personal Injury Attorney is responsible for the direction and management of all assigned cases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ensuring case management software (CMS) feed is cleared daily
  • Ensuring completion of all assigned tasks by relevant due dates
  • Ensuring proper documentation of all assigned cases in CMS
  • Ensuring emails are cleared daily
  • Monitoring and managing the progress and statute of limitations (SOL) for assigned cases
  • Facilitating meetings with assigned Claim Specialists on a regular basis to ensure each claim is reviewed at least once per month
  • Completing Initial 72-hour Contacts with new clients
  • Completing Quarterly Meaningful Client Contacts (QMCC)
  • Assessing cases for immediate demand
  • Reviewing red-flag records
  • Auditing cases to determine if a lifecare plan or future care is required
  • Reviewing and editing demands for partner approval
  • Negotiating the settlement of a claim
  • Reviewing and approving disbursals
  • Reviewing releases
  • Informing the Claims Assistant of reductions to requests
  • Preparing Poremba/Breen letters as needed
  • Attending litigation transfer meetings
  • Participating in administrative staff meetings and leadership team meetings
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctor degree and a specialization in law or any related field
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada and in good standing with the Nevada State Bar
  • A valid Nevada driver's license, valid driver's insurance, and proof of driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations
  • Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer
  • Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms, such as a CMS
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
  • Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the Firm


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in personal injury litigation
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
