Position Title: Associate Application Engineer, Power Distribution

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA/Grand Prairie, TX (Remote)

We are looking to expand our team and are interested in speaking with highly driven and experienced Power distribution Application Engineer.
  • This role is significantly important in business generation of Low Voltage Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards, Busway, unit substations by offering a solution that best fits our customer needs and ensuring competitive pricing.
  • The ideal candidate will work closely with Siemens Sales and direct customers in the data center/industrial/construction markets on technical, contractual, and commercial issues and will be responsible for locating and exploring new business prospects, as well as expanding on current ones.
  • The ideal candidate will be preparing, submitting, and negotiating contract terms; and drafting, submitting, and preparing bids.
  • The ideal candidate would have good communication and interpersonal skills, a solid grasp of the concepts of pre/post project sales, a demonstrated track record of successful bidding and proposal writing for multiple markets including the data center, and experience with AutoCAD software.
  • The candidate will have a proven track record of successfully bidding and producing proposals for various markets.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:
  • Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs, RFQs, and other bid requests) by drafting and submitting bids.
  • Follow up on opportunities to confirm if they have been won, lost, or abandoned.
  • Work together with teams from inside the organization to produce project plans, budgets, and timeframes.
  • Engage in commercial contract negotiations with both customers and suppliers.
  • You are required to keep correct records of all contracts, bids, and proposals.
  • Creating and modifying project drawings and schematics requires the use of the AutoCAD program.
  • Keep an eye on the trends in the sector as well as the actions taken by competitors to spot prospective possibilities and risks.
  • Represent the company by attending trade shows, conventions, and other similar gatherings to foster connections with prospective customers as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or 4 years of equivalent years of experience in engineering.
  • 1 plus years of expertise in the process of preparing proposals and bidding on projects.
  • Need to be equipped with fundamental financial and commercial aptitude.
  • Knowledge and experience with the application of electrical distribution products and systems with a focus on Low voltage switchgear and switchboard products.
  • Knowledge and experience with evaluating single line diagrams (SLD), relay PLC schemes, communication network diagrams (media & protocols)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Willing to travel on short notice and as necessary.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Possess basic level of technical knowledge with the application of electrical distribution products and systems.
  • A solid comprehension of the various approaches and ideas involved in project management.
  • Capability to communicate well and interact well with others.
  • Capability to operate both alone and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Capacity for detailed analysis and creative problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards for low voltage equipment.

The pay range for this position is $68,830 - $117,994 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
