What is the opportunity?

RBC Dominion Securities located in Oakville, ON is currently seeking a licensed Associate Advisor for a Director's Council team. The successful candidate will possess 5 years+ of industry experience, a passion for service excellence, and thrive in a fast paced team environment. This individual will be responsible for supporting the work of the Portfolio Manager, managing client relationships and overseeing workflow for the team. This is an exciting, challenging role and the ability to learn and grow in this role is vast.

As an Associate Advisor, you will work with an Investment Advisor team and be responsible for providing proactive advice and support to our clients and the Investment Advisor, helping deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. Identifying new opportunities and helping to grow the business will be a key and exciting part of your role.

What will you do?
  • Tap into your superior problem resolution skills to provide proactive client service. Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with various departments to provide smooth and timely solutions.
  • Effectively respond to client account inquiries and take ownership of follow-ups.
  • Oversee trading and/or portfolio rebalancing.
  • Help build and execute business plans, client segmentation exercises, and client service plans.
  • Identify opportunities for asset consolidation and referrals across the existing client base
  • Nurture and manage valuable relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and RBC partners.
  • Support both the advisory team and our clients throughout the Wealth Management process
  • Investigate and resolve inquiries related to accounts and delegate responsibilities to team members
  • Provide world class client service to our valued clients
  • Participate actively in team meetings, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving discussions.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 5+ years of experience in wealth management
  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO
  • University Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required, or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly developed client service skills
  • Knowledge of financial planning concepts: investments, tax, retirement, estate planning, risk management


Nice to have
  • CFP, CIM or progress towards an industry designation is an asset
  • Experience working with high net-worth or ultra-high net-worth clients
  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities' systems and procedures

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:
$38,000.00- $60,000.00

This position includes competitive-based pay, and the overall earning potential is impacted by a variable incentive structure, earning a multiple of salary up to:
1.5x
