The purpose of the Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management Office within the Division of Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management at Cal State Fullerton is to transform the lives of the students academically, personally and professionally, equipping all with the knowledge and skills required for success. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management (Administrator III). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management, the Assistant Vice President provides strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and operational direction for assigned departments, programs, services, and initiatives within the Division of Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management. The Assistant Vice President serves as a key member of the division's leadership team and collaborates with campus partners to advance institutional priorities related to student success, access, engagement, retention, well-being, graduation, and career placement.

The Assistant Vice President develops and implements divisional and institutional strategies, establishes operational priorities, manages resources, and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, CSU, and university policies and regulations. The position provides leadership to directors and managers responsible for a varying portfolio of student-facing services and initiatives and fosters a culture of innovation, accountability, assessment, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.

The Assistant Vice President represents the Division of Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management in university-wide committees, partnerships, and strategic initiatives and serves as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The position promotes inclusive excellence, student-centered decision-making, and organizational effectiveness while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the university. Essential Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education, enrollment management, student affairs, admissions, outreach, student success, or a related administrative area. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory and management experience overseeing professional staff, managers, and/or directors. Demonstrated experience leading strategic planning, or, strategic enrollment management initiatives, or, organizational management, or, program administration, and operational oversight within a complex organization. Experience managing budgets, allocating resources, and ensuring fiscal accountability. Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and operational strategies. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Experience or the ability to support recruitment initiatives for historically underserved populations. Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in higher education, student affairs, enrollment management, admissions, outreach, retention, and student success. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, higher education compliance requirements, and institutional policies. Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, assess outcomes, and make evidence-based decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead organizational change initiatives. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to foster collaboration among various campus and community stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to student-centered service, inclusive excellence, and organizational effectiveness. Ability to effectively represent the university in internal and external settings.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Ten (10) or more years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration, student affairs, strategic enrollment management, admissions, outreach, or student success. Experience at a California State University (CSU) campus or other large public higher education institution. Experience overseeing multiple departments with responsibility for admissions, outreach, orientation, educational partnerships, community engagement, enrollment services, or related functions. Demonstrated success developing and implementing enrollment growth, student success, retention, and graduation initiatives. Experience leading large-scale organizational change, process improvement, or strategic transformation efforts. Experience managing complex budgets, student fee funds, and resource allocation across multiple departments. Knowledge of CSU policies, procedures, and systemwide initiatives. Experience working with various student populations and advancing access, equity, and student achievement outcomes. Experience utilizing institutional research, predictive analytics, and assessment data to inform strategic planning and decision-making. Demonstrated record of building successful partnerships with K-12 schools, community colleges, community organizations, and external stakeholders. Active involvement in professional associations related to enrollment management, student affairs, higher education leadership, or student success.

Demonstrated experience in strategic and systems thinking, change leadership, and innovation, with strong political and organizational acumen. Proven ability to foster collaborative leadership and consensus building, support talent development, coaching, and succession planning, and ensure effective fiscal stewardship and resource optimization. Commitment to continuous improvement and assessment.

License/Certifications

A valid California driver's license.
