Full Job Description
The Assistant Vice President, Corporate Actions position will be responsible for ensuring all corporate action events, including complex bankruptcy restructuring, private transactions, bank debt amendments, and proxy voting are processed timely and accurately to Oaktree's books and records. This person will work closely with internal teams (bank debt processing, trade processing, accounting, pricing, legal, tax, compliance and investment professionals) and external stakeholders (custodians, outside counsel, agents).
Scope and responsibilities
• Ensure corporate actions events are processed accurately and timely across multiple accounts, funds, and special purpose vehicles;
• Confirm details of bankruptcy restructuring transactions via communication with investment professionals, accounting, tax, legal, compliance, pricing and other stakeholder groups;
• Analyze and process complex corporate action events to Oaktree's Geneva accounting platform after confirming with data vendors and external agents;
• Ensure Oaktree is meeting requirements related to timely event processing and validating the team is following all daily procedures and audit requirements;
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and outside service providers (attorneys, agents, custodians);
• Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency, minimize risk and implement improvements;
• Resolve position and cash reconciliation breaks related to corporate actions;
• Capture and analyze valuable data to build upon established Key Performance Indicators;
• Provide supporting materials for auditors as requested;
• Perform other various tasks and projects as necessary;
Experience required
• 10+ years relevant corporate actions experience; specific expertise and knowledge of equity and debt instruments and syndicated and non-syndicated loans;
• Understanding of ISO/SWIFT standards;
• Experience working with industry utilities and communication protocols such as Geneva, Everest, Bloomberg preferred;
• Proficiency using Excel, Power BI and other MS Office software;

• Strong initiative and a self-starter with a proven ability to produce daily under minimal supervision;
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure;
• Proven problem-solving experience including root cause analysis and process improvement;
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills;
• Team-oriented with aptitude for training and developing other team members;
• Flexibility to work outside of standard hours on occasion as needed to meet deadlines;
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
Education
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Base Salary Range
$125,000 - $185,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
