Who You'll Work With

You will be working on the underwriting team, which is part of the Commercial Mortgage Group.

About The Role

You will report to the Head of Underwriting. The team works on all types of property types and originates loans that are performing, transitional, bridge and construction.

Responsibilities

Understands multiple types of transactions including whole loans, syndicated loans, and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $30 million to $500 million.

Able to work on complicated transactions independently and with a team.

Able to Asset Manage Commercial Real Estate loans

Portfolio Management experience in Commercial Real Estate

Uses leadership skills to work with underwriters, originators, closers and legal to complete a transaction

Work with key stakeholders in different departments including Investment Credit and Enterprise Risk Management

Understanding of macro-economic trends and real estate investment fundamentals

Expertise with third party reports including: appraisals, engineering reports as well as understand environmental assessments, zoning letters, credit reports, background checks, credit references, and legal documents.

Experience in multiple markets, research, lending market trends, and real estate market movements.

Present and explain a deal to others in credit committee using a written memo and verbal communication

Evaluate deals, develop underwriting assumptions, and review property-level documents.

Communicate with brokers, agents, and principals to complete strategic research projects and analysis to validate underwriting assumptions

Perform site inspections and summarize findings in writing for loans and syndications

Research comparable properties to determine competitive amenities, rents and sales prices using CoStar, Reis, and Bloomberg

Perform advanced valuation and work with other team members using cash flow analysis with Argus and excel

Skills & Qualifications

BA/BS required and an advanced degree a plus.

Robust analytical skills are necessary.

4-7 years of related commercial real estate experience.

Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and quantitative skills.

Expertise in market research, financial statement analysis, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160, 000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financials' New York office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
