Assistant Vice President Analytics & Innovation is responsible for managing staff who are implementing and executing national clinical quality program initiatives across all lines of business. Programs may be focused on such areas as Patient Safety, population-based clinical quality measures and clinical performance. These initiatives are designed to identify, measure, and reduce preventable harm and improve care across the healthcare continuum. This role reports to the Sr Vice President of Quality, Analytics, & Innovation, and is responsible for leading and overseeing the Health Research Scientists and Health Services Data Analysts in Connecticut. Will provide guidance and direction in enhancing Carelon BH CT's analytical capabilities toward ever-increasing levels of sophistication and effectiveness.
How you will make an Impact:- Assist the executive management team in determining innovative areas for exploration via data analytics and identifying the best approaches to answer data-related questions posed by state partners and other stakeholders.
- Assists in overseeing and directing studies of clinical outcomes, working on Performance Targets, interpreting trends, utilizing advanced analytics for specialty population identification and analysis, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Oversee the development of methodology for indicators, studies, pilots, and performance targets used in any activities completed by the Carelon BH CT.
- Manage staff who are implementing and executing clinical quality program initiatives. Programs may be focused on such areas as the Rural Health Transformation, the statewide Connecticut Behavioral Health Homes, the CCBHC, the Child & Family division, the SUD 1115 Waiver , performance standards, population-based clinical quality measures and clinical performance.
- Hire, train, coach, counsel, mentor, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
- Oversees resources supporting enterprise clinical quality priorities.
- Translating clinical quality strategies into actionable workplans and measurable outcomes across multiple patient safety domains.
- Leads cross-functional collaboration across such areas as clinical, analytics, provider, care management, product, payment integrity, legal, compliance, and operational teams to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
- Oversees provider engagement, intervention implementation, care management integration, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement activities while supporting the development of scalable programs and operational best practices.
Minimum Requirements:- Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, public health, health sciences, healthcare management, or a related healthcare field.
- A minimum of 7 total years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, managed care, healthcare operations, care management, program management, population health, or related healthcare experience.
- At least three of those years leading cross-functional healthcare initiatives, care management programs, and complex project or program implementations required.
Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies:- PhD preferred
- Prefer experience with program evaluation analytics and longitudinal outcomes-based research in behavioral health
- Current unrestricted clinical license, Certified Case Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), and/or advanced degree in a healthcare-related field or business preferred.
- Any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background may be accepted.
