Project Overview:Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far - enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year.
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services.
Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway.
The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.

Job Summary:The Ass't Turnover Coordinator reposts to the Lead Turnover Coordinator/PFE and is responsible for adhering to turnover processes and procedures, Interfaces with professional and administrative staff, interfaces with field engineers, subcontractors and vendors, and others, as assigned. Ensures turnover procedure is followed. #LI-NP1
Major Responsibilities:- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Builds system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client.
- Schedules system and area walkdowns and coordinates with construction, startup, and the client as applicable.
- Prepares turnover packages and leads system and area walkdowns
- Scribes all punch list items that arise on walkdowns for input into the punch list tracking system.
- Inputs punch list items and maintains punch list tracking system.
- Leverages data and creates reporting for strategy development and decision making
- Coordinates with construction management on priorities and strategies for subcontracted work:
- Schedules walkdowns for the scope
- Validates punch list for the scope
- Ensure inspection records are completed and submitted for the scope
- Coordinates with direct hire supervision
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Demonstrated ability to oversee, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments involving multiple internal and external organization
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams and Civil/Structural drawings
- Industrial Construction experience and experience with LNG facility preferred
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Familiarity with Teamworks and Setroute a plus
