Qualifications

  • Manage production and operations to maintain an adequate supply of raw materials
  • Review and recommend actions regarding staffing and training for supervisory personnel
  • Monitor environmental control systems for regulatory compliance
  • Oversee safety incident investigations and recommend safety improvements

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Process Plant Superintendent, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Ensure all operations and maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner;


  • Coordinate maintenance and operations activities to achieve departmental objectives sustainably


  • Coach and develop the leadership team;


  • Analyze, approve, and implement the KPI's to be applied in the department;


  • Manage production and operations activities to ensure adequate supply of raw material intended for processes;


  • Review, approve, and recommend actions regarding staffing, development, and training of all supervisory and operating personnel;


  • Monitor environmental control systems to ensure compliance with government regulations;


  • Identify, administer, and/or recommend necessary training tools for plant management and personnel;


  • Oversee investigations involving safety incidents, accidents, and near misses. Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Recommend procedures and methods to improve employee safety;


  • Other duties as required.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related discipline;


  • 10 years of experience in managing a large and complex mining process plant;


  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures, and regulations;


  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
