Location: Project Site (Travel Required)
Reports To: Owner's Representative Site Manager / Project Director
Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per yearPosition SummaryThe Assistant Site Manager (Owner's Representative) supports the Site Manager in overseeing the construction of utility-scale wind or solar energy projects on behalf of the project owner. The role focuses on monitoring EPC contractor performance, coordinating site activities, and ensuring construction work complies with project specifications, schedule, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
The position requires
general knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities, as well as familiarity with
EPC project delivery models, contractor coordination, and construction contracts.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwner's Representative Oversight- Support the Site Manager in representing the project owner during construction activities.
- Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and contractual commitments.
- Assist with identifying potential risks, delays, or non-conformance issues and escalate as necessary.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings with EPC contractors and site stakeholders.
Construction Monitoring- Observe and report on key construction activities including:
- Civil works: grading, access roads, foundations, trenching, and site preparation
- Mechanical installation: wind turbine components, trackers, mounting systems, and equipment installation
- Electrical systems: cable installation, terminations, substations, and interconnection infrastructure
- Assist with verification that work aligns with approved engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
EPC Coordination & Contractual Awareness- Assist in reviewing EPC contractor compliance with contract requirements and project milestones.
- Track contractor deliverables, progress updates, and site documentation.
- Support management of RFIs, change orders, field technical queries, and punch list items.
- Maintain awareness of key contract provisions affecting schedule, quality, and deliverables.
Quality Assurance & Safety- Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with project HSE policies.
- Participate in safety observations, site walks, and incident reviews.
- Assist in monitoring construction quality and documentation of inspections and test results.
Reporting & Documentation- Maintain site observation reports and daily construction summaries.
- Track project progress, issues, and risks for communication to project management.
- Assist in compiling weekly and monthly construction progress reports.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent field experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
- General knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical construction processes.
- Familiarity with EPC contracting structures and construction project coordination.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with utility-scale wind or solar projects.
- Exposure to substation construction, transmission interconnection, or commissioning activities.
- Experience supporting owner's representative or developer-side project teams.
- OSHA or equivalent safety certification.
