This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an Assistant Project Delivery Manager- Power & Energy for our Operations and Delivery Team in New York, NY. The following locations will also be considered: Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Kansas City, KS, Boise, ID and Tampa, FL. This position can be based in any of our WSP USA offices. The responsibility of supporting the successful delivery of projects and supporting Business Line Project Delivery Manager as well as other Business Line Leadership.
Your Impact

General Duties:
  • Work under the direction of the Project Delivery Manager for the P&E business.
  • Support and promote a consistent approach to project delivery, operational reporting, quality, and other key initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of training and mentoring support for Project Managers, Project Directors and other staff.
  • Act as a point of escalation for specific project issues.
  • Support the pursuit phase of the project lifecycle with rate and pricing development.


People and Culture
  • Support in coaching and supporting project managers and project controllers.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Project Managers, Project Financial Analysts, and other Operations and Delivery staff.


Operational Excellence
  • Prioritize training, promote and support processes and aid in administering system-wide tool adaptation to enhance WSP's ability to deliver high quality, sustainable projects for clients bringing the best tools and practices available to market.
  • Assist in project/client negotiations as needed.
  • Conduct/assist in conducting readiness/project reviews on key projects in the portfolio.
  • Identify and escalate project risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor recovery plans as needed.
  • Support the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope.
  • Support changes to the project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.


Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience
  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Business, or equivalent discipline.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, Project Controller, Project Director, or related role to understand project delivery issues and requirements.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, team dynamics, client relationships, staffing and resource requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and helpful, open and candid communication skills.
  • Leadership skills that portray commitment, reliability, and accountability to desire outcomes.
  • Proven track record in managing complex, geographically dispersed teams with demonstrated success in operational efficiency and financial management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $78,600 - $135,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $73,100 - $117,700

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
