Physician willwork with theCardiothoracic / MCStransplant teamswith responsibilities including providing direct patient care to adult inpatients at Jackson Memorial Hospitaland academic activities with house staff from multiple disciplines.

Job Functions

  • Primarily nocturnal shiftswith opportunitiesfor25% daytime coverage.Direct inpatient careforadultpre- and post-cardiothoracictransplant,Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery and ECMO/ MCS and Transplant/ SurgicalIMCU.

  • Clinical responsibilities will consist of fifteen (15) days of ICU coverage per month, with up to 50% of those shifts covering nights.

  • Attendance at multidisciplinary transplantand divisionalconferences and rounds.

  • Clinically collaborate with transplant team 6Cardiology, Pulmonology,Surgeons, and any other patient consultants.

  • Precepting trainees in inpatient settings.

  • ParticipateinAPP,resident and fellow education.

Qualifications

  • Awarded degree of M.D. or D.O. from an ABIM, ABA,AOAor ABS recognizedtraining program.

  • Valid ABIM Certification in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine, ABA Certification in Critical Care Medicine, or ABS/ AOBSCertificationinSurgical Critical Care.

  • Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.

  • Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience, especially inECMO/MCS,Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgeryand Critical CareEchocardiography, to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, patients, and family members.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to meet responsibilities of the position.

  • Specialized trainingand certification (E-AEC)inMCS / Ecmo / Transplanthighly desired.

  • Experience working and teaching in academic settingis highlydesired.
