Position descriptionConduct independent and collaborative research using human data, human biospecimens, and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based models to investigate the molecular factors and pathways underlying cardiovascular disease. Design and perform experiments involving iPSC culture and differentiation, molecular and cellular assays, and biospecimen processing. Contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of human cohort studies, including integration of clinical, biomarker, and genetic data. Analyze and interpret experimental and clinical data using appropriate statistical methods. Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. Prepare manuscripts, grant applications, and scientific presentations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams. Provide technical training and day-to-day guidance to students and junior research personnel as needed.
Required Qualifications: - Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in human cohort research and translational biomedical research.
- Experience with human biospecimen processing, molecular biology techniques, and analysis of clinical and genetic data.
- Experience in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture, differentiation, and characterization.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Research experience in cardiovascular disease and lipid biology.
- Expertise in investigating the effects of environmental exposures on cardiovascular health using human cohort studies and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based models.
- Experience integrating clinical, biomarker, genetic, and multi-omics data to elucidate disease mechanisms.
- Demonstrated commitment to translational research in diverse human cohorts aimed at understanding cardiovascular health disparities and improving health equity in understudied populations.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing, scientific publishing, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
