Job SummaryUnder the direction of the principal, this position provides instructional leadership in the coordination and implementation of the school's curriculum/instructional programs, including technical assistance to administrators and staff as they implement the instructional program.
Job Description / Essential Elements:DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the direction of the principal assists in providing leadership to school certificated and classified staff in implementation of the District adopted educational program as well as administrative policies and procedures.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the principal in providing leadership to school certificated staff in implementation of the District adopted educational program.
• Assists the principal in providing leadership for the school's certificated and classified staff in implementation of the Board as well as Administrative Policies and Procedures.
• Works cooperatively with parents and community groups.
• Assists the principal in counseling and guidance of students with learning and/or behavioral problems.
• Assists the principal in the development and implementation of the school's discipline program and promotes a positive learning environment.
• Plans a program of classroom visitations and evaluations of teachers and classified staff in accordance with the District procedures for evaluation.
• Observes and evaluates the instructional program in the classroom and makes recommendations to teachers on effective ways of improving the quality of programs.
• Assists with the preparation of the master schedule to assure academic scheduling priorities.
• Provides leadership in curriculum development.
• Maintains professional competency by attendance at District and regional staff development conferences and workshops.
• Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the principal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Possession of a valid California Administrative Credential or Administrative Services Intern Credential
• A minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience in grades TK-8
• Master's Degree
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic community
• Positive interpersonal skills, professional and personal integrity and a commitment to openness and honesty
Desired:
• Three (3) years of successful administrative experience, including staff development, extensive experience in the implementation of curriculum, and demonstrated ability to work in a team concept with a special emphasis on highly-developed people skills.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish/English)
