Lead instructional staff to achieve ambitious, measurable student outcomes by coaching and developing a portfolio of teachers through frequent observation, real-time feedback, and clear performance expectations. Assistant Principals of Instruction analyze academic data to prioritize support, ensure high-quality implementation of curriculum and assessments, and design and facilitate professional development that strengthens instructional practice. They hold teachers accountable for excellence while building rigorous, inclusive learning environments where all students consistently access grade-level content. Through strong relationships with staff, students, and families, APIs will drive continuous improvement and contribute to a high-achieving school culture aligned to Rocky Mountain Prep's academic goals and Concept Essence.

Modeling strong instructional practice and supporting teachers to translate feedback into immediate improvements in lesson execution.
Analyzing student work and academic data across daily, interim, and long-term cycles to identify trends and prioritize high-impact coaching.
Designing and facilitating professional learning experiences aligned to teacher needs and school priorities that drive measurable growth in instructional practice.
Ensuring strong implementation of curriculum and assessment systems to accelerate progress toward Rocky Mountain Prep's Big Five academic goals.
Developing teacher ownership and accountability through clear expectations, consistent monitoring, and reflective coaching conversations.
Performance Management & Development
Coaching and developing a portfolio of teachers through frequent observation, targeted feedback, and goal-setting that improves instructional effectiveness.
Conducting mid-year and end-of-year evaluations grounded in evidence, professional growth, and student outcomes.
Building systems that promote continuous improvement, clarity of expectations, and strong follow-through across instructional teams.
Modeling decisive, equity-driven leadership and taking deep ownership for team performance and results.
School Culture & Leadership
Cultivating a rigorous, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment for students and staff.
Supporting behavior systems that protect instructional time and reinforce consistent academic and cultural expectations.

Operational Leadership
Aligning grade-level operational systems with instructional priorities related to attendance, enrollment, and persistence.
Leading and participating actively in leadership meetings, instructional planning routines, and school-wide responsibilities to ensure strong execution of campus goals.
Family & Community Engagement
Building authentic, culturally responsive relationships with families that strengthen partnership in support of student success.
Maintaining proactive communication with students and families to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement.

Teachers you support consistently plan and deliver rigorous, engaging instruction that increases students' access to grade-level content and improves the quality of student work. Professional development and coaching you design result in observable shifts in instructional practice and improved assessment outcomes. Clear systems for planning, feedback, and accountability are implemented with consistency and strong follow-through, contributing to classrooms where high expectations, productive learning culture, and protected instructional time are the norm. Families and staff experience you as a relational, trustworthy, and solutions-oriented leader who communicates with clarity and builds shared ownership for student success. Through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, you meet ambitious academic and operational goals and contribute meaningfully to the overall performance of your school.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
At least three years of full-time teaching experience in a K-12 setting
At least two years of full-time teacher leadership or administrative experience
Experience managing, coaching, or developing adult team members
Demonstrated track record of achieving strong academic or organizational results in schools
Successful completion of a background check
Eligibility to work in the United States (Rocky Mountain Prep participates in E-Verify to confirm identity and employment eligibility)
Salary
Assistant Principal salaries range from $85,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.
