DESCRIPTION:The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools & Instructional Programs (RSIP) is seeking an Assistant Principal who will have the unique opportunity to be employed in one of the state-of-the-art Career and Technical Education (CTE) centers on Long Island. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working under the supervision of the building principal and implementing all school-wide and instructional duties, functions, and day-to-day operations
- Providing instructional leadership, supervision, and direction to all teaching and related services staff within a CTE center, ensuring alignment with New York State Learning Standards and assessments
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents, community members, and Nassau County school districts to support student success
- Overseeing student management, discipline, and programs for special education, alternative education, English language learners, and college/career readiness
- Utilizing data analysis, student information systems, and instructional technology to drive instructional leadership and program improvement
- Managing budgets, daily school operations, and staff effectively
- Representing RSIP and Nassau BOCES with districts, employers, and community partners while leading new Agency initiatives
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of the use of data and technology to inform instruction
REQUIREMENTS:- New York State Education Department Certification; School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), or School Building Leader (SBL)
- Three or more years of previous leadership experience
- Proven experience with secondary CTE programs and/or alternative student populations
- Experience in budget management, fiscal operations, and use of instructional/administrative technology
- Experience collaborating with industry and higher education to advance college and career readiness initiatives
SALARY: As per labor contract.
