Position Summary
The Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the school's leadership team and as the Principal's primary partner in supporting the day-to-day academic, operational, and student life functions of La Salle Academy.
This individual will provide leadership in curriculum and instruction, faculty development, student discipline, school culture, daily operations, and student support services while helping ensure that every student is challenged academically, supported personally, and prepared to become a young man of faith, integrity, and leadership.
Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, visibility throughout the building, and a genuine commitment to building strong relationships with students, faculty, staff, and families.
What You'll Do
Academic Leadership
•
Partner with the Principal to maintain a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
•
Support curriculum development, instructional innovation, and academic planning.
•
Conduct classroom observations and provide meaningful coaching and feedback to faculty.
•
Promote instructional best practices and support teacher professional growth.
•
Collaborate with department chairs to strengthen curriculum alignment and student achievement.
•
Monitor student academic progress and implement intervention strategies when necessary.
•
Support the development of innovative academic programs that enhance student experience.
Student Life & School Culture
•
Lead student discipline with consistency, fairness, compassion, and accountability.
•
Foster a school culture rooted in respect, responsibility, belonging, and personal growth.
•
Build positive and meaningful relationships with students and families.
•
Support attendance initiatives, behavioral interventions, and student success plans.
•
Serve as a highly visible presence throughout the school day, interacting positively with students and staff.
• Promote student leadership opportunities, school spirit, and community engagement.
Leadership & School Operations
•
Partner closely with the Principal in overseeing the daily operation of the school.
•
Assist with supervision schedules, student activities, assemblies, and special events.
•
Coordinate faculty supervision and support operational excellence throughout the school.
•
Support school safety initiatives, emergency preparedness, and crisis response planning.
•
Participate in retreats, liturgies, parent programs, admissions events, and community-building activities.
• Serve as a collaborative member of the leadership team, helping strengthen faculty morale and organizational culture.

Qualifications
•
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field preferred.
•
New York State School Building Leader (SBL) Certification preferred.
•
Minimum of three years of successful teaching and/or school leadership experience.
•
Demonstrated success working with high school students and faculty.
•
Strong instructional leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•
Experience supporting curriculum development, faculty supervision, student discipline, and school operations preferred.
•

Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000. - $110,000. Salary is commensurate with credentials, experience and demonstrated success in leadership.
