Expected pay for this position is $35.66 - $41.96/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Preconstruction Project Manager will provide comprehensive preconstruction services, including estimating, scheduling, value engineering, risk management, bid solicitation, and subcontractor outreach/procurement on multiple large-scale commercial construction projects. This will involve collaboration with owners, architects, and Pointcore team members. This individual will assist with the development and organization of document control, tracking, and distribution of construction documents, and assist with meeting minutes for clients and trade partners. The Assistant Preconstruction Project Manager is also responsible for the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects from guaranteed maximum price (GMP) approval through project closeout. The Assistant Preconstruction Project Manager is expected to lead smaller construction projects or assist on larger construction projects and maintain positive and effective working relationships with both internal and external members of the project team, including owners, designers, engineers, field operations, trade partners, and program managers. The individual will run or assist with owner meetings, trade partner meetings, trade partner buyouts, material procurement, job site safety, job site quality, project schedule, writing subcontracts, owner change orders, subcontractor change orders, cost forecasting, and construction document management.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Internship(s) and/or exposure to construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • Active state driver's license.
  • Must earn Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour Construction Safety training within 6 months of hire.


Other Skills/Knowledge:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to be flexible and find creative ways to improve the organization's effectiveness and solve construction and owner's problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in construction preconstruction or project management.

  • Exposure to of healthcare construction market.
  • Knowledge of cost management software (VISTA, CMiC, etc.).
