Full Job Description
Way of Work: Hybrid (3 days per week in-office, 2 days remote)

Preferred Reporting Location: Columbus, OH

*Open to other locations, but 25% travel requirement will be within Central Ohio area*

Job Summary
  • Creating and managing material purchase requests to support project needs.
  • Tracking material shipments and deliveries to maintain project schedules.
  • Processing material invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Processing contractor invoices and purchase requests while ensuring compliance with project and company requirements.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and logging contractor units and associated activities.
  • Coordinating and onboarding inspection teams to support project execution and quality requirements.


Essential Functions
  • Employ project integration management processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and transition projects to customers while ensuring project objectives are achieved.
  • Apply expertise across the product life cycle to define and manage non-product objectives, including safety, cost, schedule, and human resources. Align project resources to maximize productivity, implement scope and configuration management practices, and lead project teams and stakeholders through effective collaboration and direction.
  • Utilize quality management processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control project activities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Employ risk management processes to proactively identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks, ensuring successful project delivery and objective attainment.
  • Apply procurement management principles and processes to effectively transfer project and product risks, maximize opportunities, and establish fair value for both buyers and sellers while supporting project success.
  • Utilize cost management methodologies to develop accurate estimates, establish budgets, and maintain cost controls within project success parameters.
  • Apply schedule management practices to effectively plan, develop, monitor, and deliver projects within established timelines and project objectives.
  • Utilize NiSource risk management tools and methodologies in the planning, development, and management of projects, resources, and stakeholders.
  • Apply knowledge of NiSource human resource processes to optimize project team performance, ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures, and motivate contractor performance through effective leadership and engagement techniques.
  • Actively engage project stakeholders and implement strategies to address stakeholder concerns, manage opposition, and align project objectives with stakeholder expectations and business needs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in communication management practices to effectively engage, manage, and influence project stakeholders.
  • Apply project governance principles and utilize effective communication and performance management processes to ensure project safety and environmental objectives are achieved.
  • Manage projects in accordance with industry best practices, NiSource Organizational Process Assets, and established Project Management Guidelines and Standards.


Required Qualifications For Position
  • Bachelor's Degree In Technical field or 5 years project engineering/technical experience
  • Expanded comprehension in project management guidelines, standard, processes, and job aids
  • Expanded proficiency in project management information systems (PMIS) utilization and integration; scheduling software, risk management software, cost management software, and performance metrics (and dashboards) and tool integration of project controls information
  • Applies an increasing proficiency in leadership, management, organizational theory, personal, interpersonal skills in a "situational leadership" application. Manages project stakeholders using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value based decision-making, integrated communication (soft and hard skills); conflict resolution, and team work
  • Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Must be able to work in areas of high noise, dust, extreme temperatures, confined spaces and chemical hazards.
  • Position may require up to 25% travel.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Upon Hire


Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering
  • Experience in large industrial Capital Project environments.
  • Familiarity with utility, energy, construction, or infrastructure project management environments.

Salary Range*:
$82,200.00 - $123,200.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
