Description

The Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics Department at the University of Washington School of Nursing invites applications for a non-tenure eligible teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a 50%-100% FTE basis for a nine-month academic year, 3-year appointment beginning September 16, 2027, with eligibility to be reappointed.

The full-time base salary range for this position will be $9,690 to $11,118 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. If appointed at less than full-time, this salary range will be prorated commensurate with assigned FTE. Please note that sponsorship for a visa or permanent residence will not be possible for those appointed at less than full-time.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach and mentor a diverse community of students in undergraduate nursing programs and work collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds
  • Teach didactic and clinical courses in an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) and/or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pre-licensure program
  • Mentor students, clinical faculty, and preceptors
  • Engage in scholarly activities


All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Qualifications

Applicants for this teaching faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in nursing or a relevant field (or foreign equivalent) by the date of appointment
  • RN licensure (Washington State or Multistate Compact) by the date of appointment
  • One or more years of experience teaching in undergraduate nursing courses (didactic, clinical, and/or simulation)
  • One or more years of clinical nursing experience in the last 5 years
