Hyatt Regency San Francisco is seeking a service-focused and operations-minded Assistant Operations Manager to support the hotel's Rooms Division. This position is responsible for assisting with daily hotel operations, with primary emphasis on Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping coordination, lobby flow, arrivals and departures, guest satisfaction, colleague support, and overall rooms operation efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong rooms experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support a high-volume urban hotel environment. This role requires a strong floor presence, sound judgment, and a passion for creating seamless guest experiences while supporting colleagues across departments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily Rooms Division operations, with primary focus on Front Office, Guest Services, lobby operations, arrivals, departures, and guest experience.
- Support the Rooms leadership team in delivering exceptional service, operational consistency, and Hyatt brand standards.
- Maintain a visible presence in the lobby, front desk, and guest arrival areas during peak business periods.
- Lead, coach, and support front office and guest services colleagues during assigned shifts.
- Monitor guest arrivals, departures, room status, special requests, VIPs, World of Hyatt members, groups, and service opportunities.
- Partner closely with Housekeeping to support room readiness, guest room status, priority rooms, early arrivals, late departures, and service recovery.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Food & Beverage, Sales, Events, Reservations, and other hotel departments to ensure guest needs are met.
- Respond to guest concerns, service issues, billing questions, room-related challenges, and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Support service recovery efforts and follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist with room inventory management, occupancy review, room assignments, upgrades, out-of-order rooms, and oversell situations.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate hotel activity, occupancy, group arrivals, VIPs, service goals, and operational priorities.
- Support colleague onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, performance feedback, and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, cash handling procedures, privacy requirements, and security protocols.
- Review guest feedback, service scores, operational reports, and shift activity to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support cleanliness, presentation, and organization of the lobby, front office, guest-facing areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Act as Manager on Duty when assigned, providing leadership support across the hotel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Rooms or hotel leadership.
This is a salaried position with a compensation ranging from $73,600-$92,000.
