The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in the daily leadership and coordination of Women’s Evaluation Treatment, Postpartum, Lactation, and Parent Education Services. Serves as a frontline resource for staff, assists with staffing and workflow, supports employee development and performance, and helps advance quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives. Provides leadership in the Nurse Manager’s absence and promotes effective communication and collaboration across the care team.
The Assistant Nurse Manager Will:
- Support the Nurse Manager withdaily unit operations, staffing, patient flow, and assignment of resources.
- Providevisible clinical leadership and supportto nurses and staff during each shift.
- Assist withstaff coaching, onboarding, competency development, and performance feedback.
- Help monitorpatient safety, quality indicators, and compliancewith hospital policies and clinical standards.
- Serve as a resource for staff in managingcomplex patient care needs, clinical concerns, and family issues.
- Promoteeffective communication and collaborationamong nursing staff, providers, lactation, education, and other interdisciplinary teams.
- Assist withquality improvement initiatives, workflow changes, and implementation of departmental goalswhile ensuring continuity of operations in the Nurse Manager’s absence.

Required Skills - Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
- Education: Associates Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications & Skills- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of nursing in related setting

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
