Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care. Supervises and directs staff and functions in the unit while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise. Specific duties include managing Human Resources. directing patient care activities. monitoring unit budgets. and participating on departmental and medical center wide performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years recent clinical nursing experience in adult acute care, (within the last two years)
  • Leadership skills, including effective communication, coaching and conflict resolution within an acute care environment
  • Current Oncology or BMT certification
  • Complete understanding of patient classification system & staffing requirements for the patient population
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

  • Licenses and Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Education:
  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing
